Villiage Ministry

The Village Ministry of ACA Church, Avadi began in the year 1983 following the vision of Ps Thomasraj to reach the unreached villages surrounding Avadi with the gospel.

Since then, the ministry has been regularly conducted on the 2nd Tuesdays of every month from dawn till dusk. In the early days hired vans were used to travel to these villages. But in 2006 God provided the needs to purchase a van for this ministry which can seat 24 people comfortably. Now, every month a group comprising of nearly 25 believers travel by van to remote villages to spread the good news of the gospel.

Using simple methods such as choosing a centre spot in every village and ministering through songs, skits, sharing of testimonies, preaching the Gospel, handing out tracts and New Testaments and visiting individual homes to pray and personally evangelise people have been widely received and fruitful. Though religious extremists in a few villages have hindered the spreading of the gospel by refusing to let our team inside a few villages, the gospel has had a freeway in most. Some days, evangelism along with free medical camps have also been conducted with astounding response from villagers.

By the grace of God thousands have been delivered, set free and saved through this ministry. Churches have been established in many villages as a fruit of this ministry in villages like Sithenchri, Punnapakkam, Karunimandapam, Pudhupaalayam to name a few in Tamilnadu and many others in Andra Pradesh aswell.

Besides visiting villages in Tamilnadu, the team has travelled for ministry trips to other states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Orissa.

Since 2009, the methodology for effective ministry has been adopted to primarily reach out to people through personal evangelism, visiting every single home in these villages as teams of three (2 brothers and one sister), sharing the gospel, praying for them and leading them to Christ. Later the people who commit to Christ are connected with the local church for pastoral care and nourishment.

All glory be to God for the wonderful works He has done through this ministry, for the many who were saved, touched, healed and transformed.
