A Brief History

                                       The ACA Church in Avadi initially began as a prayer fellowship under (Late) Bro. Jerome Thiyagarajan as a small gathering of believers. Meanwhile (Late) Pastor. A. Thomasraj was trained for ministry by pastor and mentor, (Late) Pastor. G. Sundaram, the Founder of Apostolic Christian Assembly, for 7 years in the Headquarters at Purasaiwalkam. Pastor G. Sundaram inspired him to live a life of simplicity, integrity and commitment to God in the face of trials in ministry.

After his marriage to Suganthi Deva Kirubai, he was deputed to take over the ministry in Avadi, the same place in which he once worked as a coolie, pulling rice carts in a provision store.

Over the years, the Lord has used Pastor. A. Thomasraj to raise, lead and influence hundreds of pastors, leaders and believers both in his home church and many millions around the world through his passionate preaching on holiness, prayer, evangelism, church growth and faithful ministry.

The ACA Avadi church has been a beacon of love and hope to countless families who have been benefitted through the healthy spiritual nourishment and loving fellowship available through its multiple services and expansive ministries.

This ministry which began in a thatched shed, gradually grew in size and numbers with numerous extensions and renovations. A new and large church premises in Melpakkam (4 kms from the present church building) on the Poonamalee-Avadi High Road has been built with a vision to continue the work of the Lord in a greater capacity.

The Lord was gracious to grant Pastor. A. Thomasraj a full life and complete his earthly race on 06 July 2023. His five children and their families continue to serve the Lord in various capacities.
